About Ruth (she/her/hers):
My journey to the world of doula work began after the birth of my child in 2016. Even with the layers of support I had including family, friends, and coworkers nearby, I struggled physically and emotionally with childbirth recovery, feeding choices, and had challenges with my postpartum period and family leave time at home.
Navigating the birth of a baby can be overwhelming and uncertain. As your birth doula, I aim to educate, inform, and empower, so you can make the birth choices that feel right for you and your family.
In the days and weeks after you welcome a baby into your life, you may need extra support at home. I bring a calming and reassuring presence to help you achieve a balance. This allows you to recover from childbirth, and enjoy your baby while feeling as rested as possible.
I believe that everyone who wants birth or postpartum doula support should have access to it. Be in touch to secure a package or customize your own (a-la-carte) based on your budget and needs.
For 20 years, I’ve worked with families, on college campuses, in synagogue life, in Jewish communal service, within the LGBTQ+ community, and the intersection of these.
I live in Port Washington, NY with my partner and our child, and currently provide Birth and Postpartum Support on Long Island, in Queens, in Brooklyn, and in Manhattan.
